Health Guarantee – Happy Charms Sphynxs Home

At Happy Charms Sphynxs Home, the health, safety, and long-term well-being of every Sphynx kitten we place in a new family are our top priorities. All kittens adopted through Happy Charms Sphynxs Home come with a minimum 30-day health guarantee provided directly by the breeder. If you have questions about your rights or responsibilities, we encourage you to review your state’s pet purchase laws.

Initial Veterinary Examination & Buyer Rights

All our Sphynx kittens receive a full veterinary health check within ten (10) days before going to their new homes.

If your licensed veterinarian discovers a serious illness or a chronic health condition, you may choose one of the following options within 5–10 days of receiving your kitten:

  • Return the kitten for a full refund,

  • Return the kitten and exchange it for another of equal value, or

  • Return the kitten and receive reimbursement for veterinary expenses up to the kitten’s purchase price.

These options only apply when your veterinarian’s diagnosis conflicts with the breeder’s original health evaluation. If a signed and stamped veterinary health certificate has already been issued, certain remedies may not apply.

Hereditary & Congenital Conditions

If a licensed veterinarian confirms that your Sphynx kitten has a hereditary or congenital condition affecting its health—or if such a condition results in death—you may select either the refund or replacement option listed above.

Within 24–72 hours of adoption, you will receive the details of the veterinarian who examined your kitten, including their name, clinic address, and contact number.

If the breeder is not notified within 72 business hours of discovering a health issue, the health guarantee becomes void.

Compliance With U.S. Pet Laws

Pet protection laws differ by state. All breeders associated with Pelly Nova Sphynx Home comply with their state’s requirements and provide at least a one-month health assurance period. If your state requires a longer guarantee, that law will be honored.

It is illegal for any breeder to falsify veterinary records or misrepresent an animal’s health. We strictly follow all ethical and legal standards.

Extended Genetic Health Guarantee

Some breeders may offer extended protection for confirmed hereditary disorders. These extended guarantees apply only to conditions verified through licensed veterinarians and official laboratory testing.

This extended coverage:

  • Does not include routine veterinary care

  • Does not cover injuries, accidents, or buyer-caused health issues

  • Requires official veterinary documentation before a replacement or reimbursement is considered

All kittens receive age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming before leaving our care. New owners must arrange a vet visit within two (2) days of receiving their kitten to maintain the validity of this guarantee.

Discovery of Life-Threatening Conditions

If your veterinarian detects a major or life-threatening genetic defect during the first examination, a replacement Sphynx kitten will be offered (based on availability) if the breeder is notified within 24 hours.

To qualify, the kitten must be:

  • Returned to the breeder,

  • Accompanied by its registration papers, and

  • Supported by a signed veterinary report confirming the diagnosis.

Veterinary exam fees remain the buyer’s responsibility.

The following common kitten issues are not covered:

  • Minor heart murmurs

  • Underbites/overbites

  • Undescended testicles

  • External parasites (fleas, mites, ringworm)

  • Internal parasites such as coccidia or giardia

  • Small hernias

  • Respiratory infections like kitten cold or stress-related sneezing

Pelly Nova Sphynx Home is not responsible for Feline Distemper (Panleukopenia) or Feline Coronavirus diagnosed more than 48 hours after the kitten leaves our care, as these can occur after environmental exposure.

12-Month Genetic Health Guarantee

In addition to the initial protection period, every Sphynx kitten from Pelly Nova Sphynx Home comes with a 12-month genetic health guarantee, valid from the kitten’s date of birth.

This guarantee covers:

  • Life-threatening congenital abnormalities

  • Verified hereditary disorders

This guarantee does not cover:

  • Feline Distemper

  • Feline Viral Infections

  • Heartworms

  • Nutritional deficiencies

  • Viral illnesses resulting from poor care/environment

If a qualifying genetic defect is confirmed, a replacement Sphynx kitten of equal value will be provided (based on availability). Refunds are not offered.

A written veterinary report is required. In the event of death, a necropsy report must be submitted before a replacement can be issued. Medical, diagnostic, transport, or cremation costs are not covered.

Registration & Spay/Neuter Policy

All companion Sphynx kittens are sold with Limited Registration and must be spayed or neutered after 27 weeks of age.

Kittens sold for show or breeding purposes receive Full Registration, but no breeder can guarantee future show performance, fertility, or breeding success.

Vaccination Records & Ongoing Care

Every kitten leaves our home with:

  • Up-to-date vaccinations

  • Deworming treatments

  • A complete health record folder

Buyers must continue the recommended vaccination schedule and annual boosters to protect the kitten’s long-term health.

Legal Agreement

If a legal dispute arises between the breeder and the original buyer, the buyer agrees to cover all legal and court-related expenses for both parties. Any legal action must be filed within the breeder’s state and jurisdiction.
